Addressing the Drug Challenge in a Health and Humanitarian Crisis
International Anti-Drug Day (HANI) is commemorated on June 26 every year, which aims to remind the public about the dangers of narcotics, as well as to increase public awareness that narcotics are dangerous goods when misused.
The lack of public understanding of drugs and their risks can become a loophole for dealers in marketing and supplying these illicit goods. Therefore, at the momentum of commemorating International Anti-Drug Day (HANI) in 2022, prevention, counseling, and information to all people about the dangers of illicit drug trafficking and drug abuse must be carried out massively.
HANI’s theme for 2022 is “Addressing Drug Challenges in Health and Humanitarian Crises”, meaning Addressing Drug Challenges in Health and Humanitarian Crises. The aim of the theme is to raise awareness of the main problems posed by illegal drugs to society.
The abuse and illicit traffic of narcotics has a negative impact on health, socio-economic development, as well as world security and peace. Narcotics can actually trigger other crimes such as: theft, rape and murder. NTB Provincial Health Office Wishes Happy International Anti-Drug Day.
Socialize the Dangers of Drugs
Still in the program to socialize the dangers of narcotics and illegal drugs (drugs) in Pariaman City, the Chairperson of the Pariaman City Narcotics Agency (BNK) Mardison Mahyuddin invites all Cadets and Cadets of the Pariaman State Intermediate Fisheries Business School (SUPM) to unite and stay away from drugs and eradicate community diseases . This was conveyed by Mardison during the flag ceremony at SUPM Negeri Pariaman, Monday (22/8).
“Drugs are still threatening the lives of the nation’s sons and daughters. Not only children and adolescents, even adults also tend to be involved in this illegal business. For this reason, by uniting and working together, I am sure we can distance ourselves from drugs and eradicate drug abuse,” he said, who also serves as Deputy Mayor of Pariaman.
BNK Pariaman together with the Pariaman City Government are conducting school visits to socialize the dangers of drugs. The purpose of this activity is socialization about the dangers of drugs to students, who at this age will be very vulnerable to exposure to drug abuse.
“Why do we prioritize students? Because with an unstable soul, they will become an easy target for drug dealers, so that with the beginning they try they will become addicted and eventually damage the students,” he added.
Drugs or narcotics are simply drugs or substances that can cause hallucinatory effects and can be addictive. Counseling socialization is an effort to approach the community with the aim of increasing understanding of the adverse effects of drugs.
“We also appeal to students if they know of relatives, friends or anyone who is a drug user, to report it to BNK so they can be assisted with rehabilitation. We also ask students to always fill their daily activities with useful and positive things and not be easily swayed by enticements to use drugs and have the courage to say NO to drugs, “to get more complete information, please click here.
