Aspen Plus can model and simulate more than 70 different process unit operations such as reactors, distillation columns, lyophilizers, heat pumps, exchangers, pumps, feeders, and converters.
Aspen Plus Simulation includes a functional programming language that is easier for the user to use than a graphical programming language such as eXcelon. The Aspen Plus simulation language (APL) can be used to program automatic control and optimization of process steps. Once a process has been programmed, Aspen Plus can be used to model, simulate, and automatically optimize the operation of the process. The Aspen Plus design environment allows the creation of models that are used for the closed-loop control, simulation, and optimization of a process.
An integrated view of multi-environment simulation provides a virtual environment and an integrated graphical user interface that allow the user to simulate, analyze, and optimize the process. Simulation results can be exported into Gantt or PTP charts to allow for a more effective presentation.
